# Our Sangha and the Blue Moon

The transformation begins  
with a chuckle  
as Cindy explains  
the subject of the day's sit.

Discomfort in a cardigan  
at the edge of boredom  
and tranquility.

The blue moon,  
she explains,  
is a second viewing  
of the same old moon,  
made special  
in the sighting.

It is our viewing  
with child's eyes,  
with wonder,  
that transforms it.

Guided, we turn  
to the next breath,  
unlike the moon,

the slow deep inward breath,  
as unique as a fingerprint.

The full hah of the out-breath,  
its sister, identical in its singularity.

The alchemy now complete  
the sangha sighs  
as the singing bowl's ring stills.
