If Only

If Only
heartclock

If only my heart were broken,

Instead of shattered into shards,

its clockwork ripping through time and space,

parts scattered across the universe,

never to be whole again,

never to quicken at the sight of you,

never to slow awaiting your answer,

never to race, beat for beat,

our hearts in sync

beating as one,

never as one.

Broken hearts can mend.
