That I Might Find Them
In the milder seasons, I slow my ride and scan the horizon, with hopes and prayers that I might find them.
It makes no sense
No rhyme or reason
But as I pass the lake
In the milder seasons
I slow my ride
And scan the horizon
With hopes and prayers
That I might find them
A pair of swans
A him and her
They dip and dive
And seem to glide
Just above the water
But never far
One from the other
Each year for a decade
the pair I have spied
And two years
Since I lost my bride
But somehow
seeing them together
Always gives me solace
It makes no sense
No rhyme or reason
But as I pass the lake
In the milder seasons
I slow my ride
And scan the horizon
With hopes and prayers
That I might find them
